The winter storms that battered the central belt has taken its toll on the city and surrounding areas.
After the coldest start to March on record, which left hundreds stranded on the roads and disruption across the travel network, some places are likely to see an easing of the extreme conditions this weekend.
Hundreds of motorists had spent Thursday night trapped in their cars when heavy snowfall and high winds left the road impassable.
There was little warning of the storm coming, and councils were caught unaware, causing further disruptions. Many residents of the city were left without success to necessary resources as paths and roads became impossible to traverse.
There is still a yellow warning for snow, but forecasters cannot guarantee that another red warning may be issued in the next few days due to the sudden occurrence of this storm.
