Greyfriars Cemetery Vandalised

On the 22nd March there were reports of Teens vandalising the historic Greyfriars Cemetery.

Bottles of alcohol were found strewn across the area, along with scrawls on walls and even an attempt to dig up a grave.

Three teens have been arrested for the damage and desecration but many more were seen in the area and police have appealed for witnesses.

The damage has been fixed and local Businessman, Kacper Rose has even donated a new gravestone for a family that was buried there in 1500’s who at the time could not afford one.  This includes one for a young girl called Sally Tomson.  Little is known about the girl except for basic records
