Government Relations with Pubs Turn Icy

The economic fallout of the Pandemic restrictions came to a head earlier this month when several pobs and bars voices their displeasure at alcohol restrictions by dumping ice on the doors of Edinburgh Council.

Led by Francis Graham, owner of the Tron bar on the Royal Mile.  Several bars hauled the excess ice that would no longer be used to the doors of Edinburgh Council at 42 High Street via trucks which were dumped on the grounds in large piles.

In an effort to calm tensions, Mr Graham was arrested but not charged by Edinburgh Council.  However he and several other bartenders still face lesser charges of creating a public nuisance.
The Envoy will continue to follow this story as it unfolds.
